Lord, we look with concern to Lebanon, where, all too often, hatred and devision prevail. And yet Lebanon is the country in which Jesus, when encountering the Syrophoenician woman (Mk 7:24-30), overcame the borders between groups tha were strangers to one another.

May this also happen in Lebanon today, so that people learn to approach one another without fear and to work for dialogue and mutual respect. Amen.
